Santa Gilmo delivers an early Christmas

I bet most of you are like what the hell is a “Santa Gilmo”? Well, let me tell you. Santa Gilmo runs the website Freedom Cardboard, if this is the first you are hearing of his site I will assume you live under a rock or just started collecting today. They actually just opened a physical store and are now selling cards at the store and online, so if you need anything please go to them first.

I don’t post much over there but I do troll the boards every now and then and see what’s going on. Despite the fact that I don’t post much doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the site, just a lack of time on my part with studying and other things going on.

Anyway, Gilmo is a really nice guy and he pulled a card that he thought I would like to have. Boy was he right since every time my cheap ass tried to bid on one on eBay I was instantly outbid. I gave up days before he told me he had something Cano for me so the message was fun to hear. Mrs. Claus (Gilmo) did the middleman job of getting it shipped and into my mitts.

Here is the AWESOME Robbie Cano:

2011 Topps Tribute Robinson Cano dual GU/Auto /75

So I guess this means I’m not on the naughty list? Hopefully one of these days I have something equally awesome to send in return.

Anyone open any boxes of 2011 Topps Tribute? At $400+ per box I have a feeling most people have not done so.

P.S. If you think this was generous go over to Freedom Cardboard right now and leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win your own BOX.

  1. Very nice gesture by Gilmo.

As for the Santa comparison, well, he is jolly…

And Mrs. Gilmo is a Shipping quickly machine LOL.

    Roll Tide!

  2. My eyes are getting bad, is that a gray or a white swatch? If gray, kudos to Topps for matching the picture of RC. Sweet looking card.
